Welcome to Alternative Healing.
This page is dedicated to the many modalities of Alternative Healing and how they have become a necessary part of our everyday lives, health and well being.

With our busy, stressful lifestyles we tend to forget  about our health until something goes wrong, then it can be too late. Have you ever heard the saying “prevention is better than cure?” The saying is very true. When we become unwell, it is more of an event to become well again and can cost us time away from our jobs, family and social life. So with that said, if we just take a little time out for our personal health and well-being, it will be time well spent.
There are many modalities at your disposal, some you can do by yourself at no cost except for a little time. Others you can do in a group or private session, with a group of friends or with a practitioner. Some Alternative therapies are wide spread and very accessible, for instance: Meditation, Massage, Chakras, Reiki, Huna, Reflexology, Kinesiology, Aromatherapy, Herbal Medicine, Yoga, Alternative Healing and Tai Chi, just to name a few.
“Meditation”  (in my opinion) is something I feel everyone should learn to do for themselves and put into practice on a regular basis. It relieves stress, tension, anxiety, depression, anger and helps alleviate sleep disorders, self worth issues and pain on all levels. Whether you only do 15 minutes a day, you are giving something good back to yourself. Group sessions are even better, I have joined many Meditation Groups over the years and found them very uplifting, energizing and rewarding.
Chakras, our bodies internal spinning energy system. Our internal organs rely on the wellness and positive functioning of the Seven major Chakra’s. The seven are: Crown (top of head), Third Eye (middle of forehead), Throat (base of throat), Heart (chest), Solar Plexus (torso), Navel/ Sacrel (abdomen) and Base Chakra (pelvis). The Chi (energy) that courses through them, gives cleansing, healing and vitality. Our nutrition and lifestyle has a huge impact on the wellness of the chakras energy and functionality. As an Alternative Healing, we can work on these chakras ourselves or have a chakra clearing session/ meditation. Try this next time you have a pain in your tummy. Lie down somewhere comfortable, take several deep cleansing breaths, place your hands palms down over the area and envisage healing in that area in the colors of yellow & orange.
I think I have only ever known a handful of people in my whole life that do not like a Therapeutic, Healing Massage! They don’t know what they are missing. Massage is healing, cleansing, relieving and one of the best Alternative healing you can give yourself. Massage is instrumental in relieving pain, tension, injury, muscle and tendon stress. Also in dispersing toxins in the body, giving relief to headaches, migraines, and much much more. Massage is utilized widely in the sporting industry to keep the participants limber and in top shape.
Reiki has been around for a long time. Dr Mikaomi Usui  gave light to Reiki in Japan toward the end of the 19th century  and made it one of the world’s leading Healing Alternative Healing  Therapy. It is aligned with the Universal and human energy, the Reiki practitioner is a conduit for the healing energy. By placing the hands on the body and using given symbols, the practitioner can direct energy and offer healing. I have completed my Reiki 3 levels and know firsthand this modality is of great help and healing to those I have offered it to over the years.  Reiki means Universal Life Energy.
Aromatherapy is an Alternative Healing that works around the sense of smell. Aromatherapy essences are from aromatic plants that have been used for centuries for their properties and beautiful scents. Some are potent, heady and volatile but truly useful. By using pure essential oils you can enhance mood, ease discomfort and ailments.  Give way to better health and well-being. Massage therapists combine essential oils in their healing work, which gives comfort, relief and relaxation through the sense of smell. Aromatherapy can also be utilized in a relaxing bath, or as a pleasing aroma heated in an oil burner in the home. The healing properties of Sage for instance, has been recognized for years to help relieve a sore throat, (steeped in hot water and sipped as tea) Always check you do not have any allergies to any herbs or oils before use.
I hope this has been of assistance to the reader and given you some information to help you along your path to Alternative Healing.
